Prayer to St. Joseph said during Mass: Glorious Patriarch Saint Joseph, whose power makes the impossible possible, come to my aid in these times of anguish and difficulty. Take under your protection the serious and troubling situations that I commend to you, that they may have a happy outcome (here state your request) My beloved father, all my trust is in you. Let it not be said that I invoked you in vain, and since you can do everything with Jesus and Mary, show me that your goodness is as great as a power. Amen.

Perpetual NOVENA Prayer to St. Theresa Little Flower:

O Little Therese of the Child Jesus, Please pick for me a rose, from the heavenly garden and send it to me, as a message of love. O Little Flower of Jesus, ask God to grant the favors I now place with confidence in your hands ( mention your special prayer request here ) St. Therese, help me to always believe, as you did, in God's great love for me, so that I may imitate your "Little Way" each day. Amen ( Say 1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary and 1 Glory Be each day)

FROM THE ARCHDIOCESE - Friday Facts

Archbishop Damphousse's 2021 Easter Message: I retain three key messages in this passage from the Gospel of Saint Mark, read at the Easter Vigil. First of all, just when the women thought they were entering the world of death, since they were going to embalm the body of Jesus in the tomb, they are told great news: Jesus has risen! What a surprise! For God, nothing is impossible. In the midst of our distress, our suffering, our darkness, the risen Christ reveals himself to us even today. Read more....

St. Finnan’s Church in Alexandria named a Basilica: On February 19, 2021 Cardinal Sarah, prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, on behalf of Pope Francis signed a decree raising St. Finnan’s to the status of Minor Basilica. The approval by Rome recognizes in St. Finnan’s church its extraordinary beauty and rich history. Decree to Delegate the Conferral of the Sacrament of Confirmation: This Decree (in effect until December 31, 2021) was sent to Priests and Parishes on Tues., April 13. If not received, parishes should please contact Pastoral Services or the Archbishop’s Office.

Confirmation on Pentecost Sunday for Young Adults at Notre Dame Cathedral: Due to the uncertainty of whether we will be able to accommodate the candidates for Confirmation based on the rapidly changing situation in Ottawa-Cornwall, Archbishop Damphousse is reluctantly cancelling the planned celebration for this year at the Cathedral. He is looking forward to being able to celebrate this special day in the life of the Church and the young candidates at the celebration of Pentecost in 2022. Parishes can make arrangements for their older teens and young adults to be confirmed with others at the parish celebration of confirmation this year.

Online Mass Schedules: A list of Masses available online in the Archdiocese can be found on our website at https://en.archoc.ca/masses-online. Any corrections and additions can be sent by email to abrown@ArchOttawa.ca. Every effort is being made to keep this information as current as possible.

Buy an Olive Wood Statue of St. Joseph to Support Christians in the Holy Land: In honor of Saint Joseph the Patron Saint of the Universal Church and in celebration of the dedication of the Year of Saint Joseph, “Christians of the Holy Land” is offering the chance to own an olive wood statue of Saint Joseph. Your statue will be blessed in the Holy Land with an official letter. Mindful of the suffering of our Catholic community in the Holy Land, and giving honour to Saint Joseph's profession as a wood worker, this olive wood statue will memorialize this year and your devotion to Saint Joseph, while helping Christians in Bethlehem with employment. The Christian community in Bethlehem has not received pilgrims since March 2020 which has been financially devastating. This initiative represents hope and income for those whose vocation is to continue to bear witness in the land inhabited and sanctified by Jesus Christ. All orders must be received and paid by May 21, 2021 to ensure timely delivery: Saint Joseph 29 cm is $140 and Saint Joseph 23 cm is $110.
