Cancellations due to Covid-19: In coping with the continuing challenges of the pandemic, the Archdiocese has decided to cancel the following events in the Pastoral Calendar: The Christmas Concert at Notre Dame Cathedral and Archbishop’s Reception scheduled for December 13 & The Homelands Mass scheduled for January 10.
Modification of the Clergy Gathering on December 28, 2020: The Priests’ Christmas Luncheon on Monday, December 28 as “in person” gatherings with our large numbers will not be possible. Instead, Archbishop Damphousse will host two Zoom meetings (in English at 1:30 pm and in French at 3:00pm) to allow priests to exchange Christmas greetings. More details will be forthcoming. Please save the date and time.
Change of Mailing Address – Ottawa Offices of the Archdiocese of Ottawa-Cornwall: The new mailing address for the Ottawa offices of the Archdiocese of Ottawa-Cornwall is 1244 Kilborn Place, Ottawa ON K1H 6L1 (note the change in postal code). The address of the Cornwall Pastoral Centre remains the same.
College of Consultors: Parishes are invited to submit proposals to the College of Consultors for any new projects: construction, renovation, restorations, major acquisitions, property sales, major fundraising campaigns, changes to sacred art or to worship spaces. Approval must be obtained from the Archbishop before carrying out these projects, once presented to the College of Consultors. Meeting: Dec. 15, 2020. Parishes must submit their project proposals to the diocese to centre@archottawa.ca no later than Tues., Dec. 8. Submissions received past the deadline will not be considered. Proposals to the College should include a completed form found in the College of Consultors 2018 Policy, as well as the following: the nature and cost of the project, including three quotes with price estimates; how the project is to be financed (parish reserve, fundraising or loan). Please note: requests to the Loan Fund for Parishes are up to a maximum of 50% of the project cost. If architectural or engineering plans/designs form part of your submission, these should be provided in PDF format. Third Sunday of Advent, December 13, 2020. For men and women called by the Lord to be priests, deacons and consecrated religious, that the peace of Christ will guide their hearts and minds as they proclaim the good news of salvation to His people, we pray to the Lord.

We Must Act Now: In his recent TED Talk on climate change, Pope Francis stated, “Science tells us, every day, with more precision, that urgent action is needed - and I am not dramatizing, this is what science says - if we are to keep the hope of avoiding radical and catastrophic climate change, we must act now.
