Our parish of St Theresa with the help of our council of the Knights of Columbus is a long time active member of the Centretown Churches Social Action Committee. The Centretown Churches Social Action Committee invites you to join CCSAC and the Emergency Food Centre (CEFC) workers and volunteers to pray for the medical and spiritual health and well being of Kerry Kaiser, the manager of the CEFC who is fighting a very serious cancer. She has been an inspiring manager of the CEFC for the past 26 years. We are asking supporters of the CEFC to take 5 -10 minutes to think of her with a prayer every Monday at 12 noon. We know your spiritual support will have a positive effect on both her spirits and her well-being.
If we can, we are all trying to pray together at the same time for Kerry’s health. If for some reason you can’t pray then, please pray for Kerry at a time of your choice.

to the Priesthood: Deacon Jonathan Kelly’s priestly ordination will
take place in Notre-Dame Cathedral during a Mass celebrated on the Feast
of the Transfiguration, Thursday, August 6, 2020.
Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Note:
due to physical distancing requirements, attendance at the ordination is
restricted. The Ordination and First Mass will be recorded and

ARCHDIOCESE OF OTTAWA Scam Alert: An email scam targeting members of Catholic churches and institutions across Canada is active in the Archdiocese of Ottawa-Cornwall. In some places, the scam is transmitted by text messages.
Typically, someone purporting to be a priest—or even a bishop—sends an email with a plea for electronic gift cards, notably untraceable iTunes gift cards, to be sent to another address so that they may be given to someone in need or used for a fundraising event. In some cases, the scammers take the act a step further: they ask the victim to scratch the backs of the cards and give them the revealed PIN to allow them to access the cash value.
The scam has been previously reported by several other dioceses in Canada and the US, and there are reports of parishioners who have lost money to a fraudster pretending to be the pastor of a parish. One Ottawa parishioner sent $1,100 to a fraudster pretending to be their parish priest.
