FRIDAY FAX from the Ottawa ARCHDIOCESE:

ARCHDIOCESE OF OTTAWA Scam Alert: An email scam targeting members of Catholic churches and institutions across Canada is active in the Archdiocese of Ottawa-Cornwall. In some places, the scam is transmitted by text messages.
Typically, someone purporting to be a priest—or even a bishop—sends an email with a plea for electronic gift cards, notably untraceable iTunes gift cards, to be sent to another address so that they may be given to someone in need or used for a fundraising event. In some cases, the scammers take the act a step further: they ask the victim to scratch the backs of the cards and give them the revealed PIN to allow them to access the cash value.
The scam has been previously reported by several other dioceses in Canada and the US, and there are reports of parishioners who have lost money to a fraudster pretending to be the pastor of a parish. One Ottawa parishioner sent $1,100 to a fraudster pretending to be their parish priest.

The Sunday Mass below is from Toronto:

Message from Parishioner Patricia MD- https://thegoodcompanions.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/SCWW-Summer-2020-Calendar.pdf
This is a very successful weekly socialising event for seniors with computers. I hope that some of our more isolated seniors will be able to join in conversations in this on line group provided by the Good Companions which serves our area.

Prayer to make Spiritual Communion:

People who cannot communicate now make spiritual communion:

At your feet, O my Jesus I bow down and offer you the repentance of my contrite heart, which abysses itself into its nothingness and Your holy presence. I adore you in the Sacrament of Your love, the ineffable Eucharist. I wish to receive you in the poor home that my heart offers you. In anticipation of the happiness of sacramental communion, I want to possess you in spirit. Come to me, oh my Jesus, that I may come to you. May Your love inflame my whole being, for life and death. I believe in you, I hope in you, I love you. So be it. Amen
